Description
BDA4 / Bowie & Dick A4 Test sheet Chemical Indicator for testing air removal efficiency of vacuum-assisted steam sterilizers. 100% Lead Free.
Bowie-Dick Test Sheet, for evaluation of air displacement and steam penetration in vacuum assisted steam sterilizers. Bowie-Dick cycles of 3.5 minutes at 134 ºC or 4 minutes at 132ºC.
Characteristics

Final color: dark brown/ black
NOTE: Air removal or steam quality and penetration problems are evidenced as a heterogeneous color change of the chemical indicator, with lighter regions in the center of the sheet.
Directions for use
1. Perform the Bowie & Dick test daily and after sterilizer repair.
2. Prepare a test pack of absorbent surgical towels. The towels should be freshly laundered, but not ironed. The package should be conditioned in accordance with technical guidelines or in a way that its dimensions are at least 230 mm x 300 mm each side and 250-280 mm height.
3. Place a single Chemdye® BDA4 Bowie & Dick Test Sheet in the centre of the test pack.
4. By using self-adhesive tape, prepare a fabric standard package, without tightening excessively.
5. Place the test pack horizontally in the lower shelf of an empty vacuum assisted steam sterilizer.
6. Run the Bowie & Dick cycle for 3.5 min. €“ 134ºC / 4 min. €“ 132ºC.
7. After completion of the cycle, remove the Chemdye® BDA4 Bowie & Dick Test Sheet and examine:
