Description
3D Chemical Indicator for disinfection processes control of environments and surfaces by UV light.
Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator has been specially developed to control disinfection processes by continuous UV-C radiation. It consists of a pyramidal shape synthetic substrate of 10.5 cm side and 9.0 cm height printed with reactive indicator ink.
The reactive indicator ink has been calibrated to experience different color changes depending on the accumulated radiation dose received, allowing to quickly and accurately control the efficacy of the disinfection process. Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator exclusive design allows to dangle it in height and evaluate the accumulated radiation dose received in all directions. See forms of use in height and assemblies.
Instructions for use
1.Mount as many three-dimension Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicators as areas to be verified, following the specified assembly instructions.
NOTE 1: it is recommended to put special emphasis on shadowed areas, which are those that do not receive radiation directly because something stands between them and the UV source, as they are particularly difficult to disinfect.
2.Leave the room and run a normal disinfection cycle.
3.Once the process has finished, see the final color of each side of each processed Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator. If the final color matches the reference color, it means that the accumulated radiation dose received is equal to 200 mJ/cm2.
If the final color is darker (redder) than the reference color, it means that the accumulated radiation dose received is higher than 200 mJ/cm2 . If the final color is lighter (more orange) than the reference color, it means that the accumulated radiation dose received is lower than 200 mJ/cm2.
The attached Documentation Chart allows to quickly register and analyze the obtained results. Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator, has also a chart on one of its sides that allows to register its location in the room.
NOTE 2: if Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator is placed onto a surface, the side in contact with the surface will not experience any color change due to it will not have been exposed to the disinfectant agent. Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicator sides may experience different color changes as radiation received on every side might not be the same.
NOTE 3: exposed and non-exposed Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicators must be kept protected from light. Non-exposed Chemdye® ChemSurf CDSUV-1 chemical indicators must be removed from their original packaging ONLY right before running the disinfection process.
