In 2006, in Rosario, Argentina, Terragene began its journey with a clear commitment to research and innovation in biotechnology, driven by one goal: contributing to better infection prevention.
Twenty years later, that commitment has grown into a global organization serving healthcare markets around the world, while remaining guided by the principles that shaped its beginnings: innovation, continuous learning, scientific development, and a commitment to improving infection prevention.
This anniversary is an opportunity to look back at the milestones that shaped Terragene’s journey — from the development of automated sterilization monitoring solutions to today’s connected, data-driven technologies.
It is also, above all, an opportunity to recognize the people behind every achievement.
20 Years of Innovation, From Rosario to the World
Over the past two decades, Terragene’s evolution has followed the changing needs of healthcare professionals and infection prevention workflows.
What began with a focus on biological indicators and sterilization monitoring progressively expanded into automated readers, rapid-result technologies, hygiene monitoring, digital traceability, connected solutions, and integrated workflows.
Each stage has represented a new step toward making processes more efficient, measurable, and connected.
The Automation Era
In 2014, Terragene introduced the IC10/20FR Auto-Reader, bringing automation to biological monitoring, while expanding its portfolio into washing and hygiene monitoring solutions.
The Speed Era
In 2017, Super Rapid BI reduced biological indicator incubation time to one hour, setting the stage for a new generation of rapid-result technologies.
The Expansion Era
Terragene continued expanding its technology and infrastructure with solutions such as Pro1 Micro and MiniBio Auto-Reader, alongside the opening of its 14,000 m² production facility in Alvear, Santa Fe, in 2019.
The Digital & Traceability Era
From Hyper Rapid BI and Photon to Bionova® Cloud and Surface Eye, Terragene began connecting monitoring technologies with digital data, enabling greater traceability and more connected workflows.

The Ecosystem Era
In 2024 and 2025, solutions such as Trazanto® Lens, Pro1 Endo, and Bionova® Q continued this evolution toward an integrated digital ecosystem for infection prevention.
The Future Era
In 2026, Cavitest Auto-Reader represents the next step: transforming washing performance into measurable results and evidence that can support better process control.

20 Years Built by People
Behind every technology, product, facility, and milestone are the people who made them possible.
Terragene’s 20-year journey has been shaped by researchers, engineers, developers, healthcare professionals, production teams, commercial teams, partners, distributors, and customers around the world.
Their collective work has transformed an idea that began in Rosario in 2006 into an international organization focused on infection prevention and biotechnology.
The journey has also been defined by challenges and continuous learning. Each new technology has built upon what came before, while opening the door to new possibilities.
Twenty years, therefore, is more than a number.
It represents two decades of dedication, innovation, learning, and commitment to helping healthcare professionals monitor and validate sterilization processes and strengthen infection prevention workflows.
20 Years Behind Us. The Next Chapter, We Build Together.
From its beginnings in Rosario to its presence in markets around the world, Terragene’s story has always been about moving forward.
The technologies may have changed. The processes have evolved. The scale has grown.
But the commitment remains: to develop innovative solutions that contribute to better infection prevention.
As Terragene celebrates 20 years, the company looks ahead to the next chapter with the same spirit that shaped its first two decades: curiosity, scientific development, collaboration, and a continuous drive to innovate.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
20 years behind us. The next chapter, we build together.
