Description

It has been demonstrated that many microorganisms can be inactivated by continuous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation is absorbed by DNA and RNA, causing changes in their structures and preventing their replication. The radiation dose required to achieve a microbial load reduction depends not only on the particular microorganism, but also on additional factors like radiation intensity (power) of the emitting source, distance between emitting source and surface, and time of exposure. Furthermore, surfaces that only receive radiation by reflection, get lower doses that may not be sufficient to incativate the pathogenic microorganisms present. Considering all this, it is of utmost importance to control that all surfaces to be disinfected, receive the minimum radiation dose required.

Product description

Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicator has been specially developed to control disinfection processes by continuous UV-C radiation. It consists of a 15 mm diameter dot of self-adhesive synthetic substrateprinted with reactive indicating ink. The reactive indicating ink has been calibrated to experience different color changes depending on the accumulated radiation dose received, allowing to quickly and accurately control the efficacy of the disinfection process.

Instructions for use

  1. Peel off Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicator from the roll and stick it on the surface which level of disinfection is pretended to be cpontrolled. Use as many indicators as surfaces inteded to be verified.

NOTE 1: It is recommended to distribute Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicators uniformly along the room to be disinfected, placing at least one per square meter. It is recommended to place Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicators not higher than 2 m over the floor level.

  1. Leave the room and run a normal disinfection cycle.
  2. Once the process has finished, contrast the final color of each.

Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicator used against the Results Reference Card provided and determine the accumulated radiation dose received. Confirm the color change with the results Reference Card immediately or within 24 hours for best results.

NOTE 2: Exposed and non-exposed Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicators must be kept protected from light. Non-exposed Chemdye® ChemDose CD87-200G chemical indicators must be removed from its original packaging ONLY right before running the disinfection process.

NOTE 3: record the result immediately after the disinfection process.

NOTE 4: if any serious incident occurs in relation to the device, it should be

reported to Terragene S.A. and the competent authority of the State in which

the user is established.
