Description

BTM50G/6 / Spore Mini Strips Biological Indicators for Steam sterilization processes, in single glassine packaging. Geobacillus stearothermophilus (ATCC 7953) 10^6 spores per strip (2 x 10 mm).

The Bionova® Spore Strip is specifically designed to control Steam sterilization processes at 121-135 °C. Spore Strips should be incubated in Bionova® MC20-2 or MC1020-2 growth medium tube or other appropriate growth medium for Geobacillus stearothermophilus growth.

If the sterilization process was not successful, MC20-2 or MC1020-2 growth medium will turn to yellow after incubation at 60±2 ºC, thus indicating the existence of living Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores on the strips.

If sterilization process was successful, MC20-2 or MC1020-2 indicator medium will remain its original color. A final readout should be therefore performed after 24 hours of growth medium incubation at 60±2 ºC.

Upon completion of the sterilization cycle, the spore mini strip should be tested in a suitable culture medium at 60 ºC. We suggest the use of BIONOVA® MC20 or MC1020 culture media to final reading in 24 hours. For conventional culture media like TSB, incubation for 7 days at 60 ºC is recommended.

D-Value: not lower than 1.5 minutes at 121 ºC.
