Helix Plus Kit for steam sterilization processes

Chemdye® Helix Plus is a Type 2 system with a reusable PCD for monitoring air removal and steam penetration in sterilization cycles involving narrow lumens.

Hollow, complex and minimally invasive devices are increasingly common in CSSDs. Inside narrow lumens, residual air, vacuum leaks or non-condensable gases may interfere with effective steam penetration — while quality and traceability requirements continue to rise. Helix Plus Kit helps CSSDs monitor these critical conditions through a renewed and connected Helix system.

HELIX KIT PLUS was developed for today's steam sterilization monitoring workflows, combining a renewed physical design with digital traceability tools.

Helix Plus is: A plastic housing incorporating a plastic capsule designed to hold a PCD-A chemical indicator specifically designed for this system. The capsule includes a screw cap with an indicator attached, and is connected at one end to a 1500 mm long, 2 mm internal diameter plastic tube. The plastic tube is arranged in a helical pattern and must not be released or removed from the housing to use the device.

The Helix Plus plastic housing can be used for up to 250 cycles. The shelf life of the PCD-A chemical indicators is 5 years.

Choose the cycle time you need:

• PCD-A-3.5Y: Designed for monitoring steam sterilization cycles of 3.5 minutes at 134 °C.
• PCD-A-5.3Y: Designed for monitoring steam sterilization cycles of 5.3 minutes at 134 °C and 15 minutes at 121 °C.
• PCD-A-7.0Y: Designed for monitoring steam sterilization cycles of 7 minutes at 134 °C and 20 minutes at 121 °C.
