New warranty for MiniBio, MiniPro, IC10/20FR, IC10/20FRLCD Auto-Readers.
Terragene S.A. team is pleased to inform that the warranty clauses of the Bionova® Auto-readers have been modified: MiniBio, MiniPro, IC10 / 20FR, IC10 / 20FRLCD, in order to improve and simplify the supply chain of our distributors, on the one hand , and improve the end-user experience, on the other.
The main benefit of the new warranty clauses is that they state that the Bionova® Auto-Readers factory warranty year will only be effective from the first use date (FUD) of the equipment by part of the end user.
This improvement guarantees our end users that the equipment will have a one year warranty from the date of first use regardless of the times of international transport, storage and final dispatch. In this way, the supply chain is simplified, increasing the satisfaction and trust of our customers.
The characteristics of the new guarantee clauses are detailed below:
Comparative difference between previous warranty and new warranty clauses.
Previous Warranty
Your Terragene® device is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original purchase (Warranty Period) [when used in accordance with the product’s user manuals]. If any defect arises during the Warranty period, Terragene’s obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the product.
New Warranty
Your Terragene® devices is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. If any defect arises during the Warranty period, Terragene’s obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the product.
The warranty period
The warranty period of the devices commercialized by Terragene® will be 1 (one) year since the date of the first of the product, and will not exceed the useful life of the product: 5 (five) years from the date of manufacture.

The Auto-readers Bionova® MiniBio, MiniPro, IC10/20FR, IC10/20FRLCD covered by the new warranty clause are the devices of the following lots:
Minibio: LOT: MiniBio4020
MiniPro: LOT: MiniPro4020
IC10/20FR: LOT: IC1020FR4020
IC10/20FRLCD: LOT: IC1020FRLCD4020
For the devices covered by the new clauses, the warranty period will be of a one year from the first date of use of the device.
The one-year period may not exceed the 5-year useful life of the device computed from the date of manufacture.
Device not covered by the new warranty clause
The auto-readers Bionova® MiniBio, MiniPro, IC10/20FR, IC10/20FRLCD of lots prior to the above-mentioned ones. The devices not covered by the new warranty will be guaranteed for a period of one year from the date of the original purchase.
FAQs
To identify the lot number of your device, check the LOT field in the identification label placed in the lower part of the device. You can also find the same identification label on the outside of the original packaging of your device.
The device records the FUD automatically when you perform the first incubation and reading of an indicator. Once the device informs the positive, negative or cancelled reading result, the date of the reading will be stored in the internal memory of the device. This date cannot be modified later.
Yes. You can test the device before its first use. The FUD will not be recorded when the device is tested or the regional settings are changed provided that no incubation is performed along with said actions.
Yes. Since our device is sent to all parts of the world, the device will allow a one-time-only change of the date and time stored internally so as to be adjusted to the local time. This date and time change can be made only once before the FUD of the device.
In order to keep the same functions in all the devices of the same model, when the firmware of an Auto-reader is modified by means the Bionova®BioUpdate feature, the feature will update the firmware of your incubator to the latest available version.
If the Auto-reader is not updated frequently, the device may have an outdated firmware, previous to the versions that store the date of the first incubation in the internal memory of the device.
In these cases, after the device firmware is updated, the date and time can be updated only once, as in the case of the devices covered by the new warranty clause.
The time can be updated as many times as desired after the reading of an indicator (positive, negative or cancelled) has been completed.
